If desired, the product can be painted, choosing a color that matches the overall interior. Again, this option is not suitable for elite and noble wood. You can also emphasize the originality of the product and make decoupage on its headboard.

Advice: if you are serious about furniture for the bedroom, try making a dressing table, bedside table and changing table. You might also be interested in a loft-style wardrobe or table.

First I prepared the tool. Everything you need to make a bed with a lifting mechanism with your own hands is included in the following list.

Useful and original additions

The folding bed, which has to be raised and lowered, can be replaced with drawers made from scrap materials - boards, chipboard or plywood. To implement your idea, you need to purchase a special furniture set, including wheels, guides and fasteners.

Manufacturing is carried out according to the presented drawing in the following order:

Assemble 4 drawers from wooden blocks, as described in the previous section. The fifth, which plays the role of the front back, does not need to be made.
Fasten the elements into a box. Instead of the front panel, use timber and board to create 2 wide openings.
According to the size of the openings, make drawers from plywood or other material.
Screw wheels to the drawers and install guides. Attach the handles at the front.

There is a more original solution - installing a homemade bed on a high podium and installing ordinary opening cabinets underneath it. For ease of climbing, a ladder is attached to the side of the fence, as shown in the diagram.

A transformable bed is an excellent functional solution for a cramped apartment or country house with small rooms. The idea is as follows: the bed is removed together with the mattress inside a wall-mounted chest of drawers or transformed into a cabinet using powerful lifting mechanisms. The task is complicated by the purchase of such devices and proper installation, which is best left to a specialist.

If you wish, you can implement a newfangled design sophistication - decorate the bed with a canopy. The photo shows an example of a double bed surrounded by high posts, which are united at the top by crossbars. The design is extremely clear - a spatial frame is assembled from bars, onto which translucent fabric is thrown.

Necessary accessories and fasteners

In terms of fittings, to assemble a double bed with our own hands, we only need 12 double thrust bearings. Take chipboard boards that match the color, and also not on nails , but those that are screwed in with screws. You need three pieces for each support on which the bed will stand.
