Wall in the living room - 100 photos of beautiful walls for the living room

The following design types for the hall are distinguished:

Modular

It is quite a practical and comfortable option for the living room. These products include several sections, each of which performs a specific function.

Modules, if necessary, can easily be swapped or supplemented with other elements to create a single organic composition.

Wall-pencil case

It is an indispensable solution for a hall whose dimensions do not provide the possibility of placing traditional models. The pencil case wall harmoniously combines with other interior items and allows you to achieve an interesting living room design.

Wall slide

This design consists of compact parts and can be equipped with various small cabinets, pencil cases or wall-mounted shelves.

Thanks to its small-sized appearance, the wall-slide fits perfectly into both small and more spacious living rooms.

Combined

This model can be combined with a wide variety of elements, for example, a sideboard, a cabinet or even a bar, which is conveniently placed in one of the sections of this design.

Combination products with a built-in fireplace or a work area with a roll-out, pull-out desk or computer table, which can be used only when necessary, are considered quite popular. This solution is especially appropriate for a hall with a modest area.

Classic linear models most often include such basic elements as a chest of drawers, a shelving unit, a wardrobe, a mezzanine and a niche for a TV device.

This furniture, closed or open, is particularly elitist and stylish.

A particularly interesting option are products with a built-in aquarium, which make it possible to add some exoticism to the decor of the room and create a non-trivial interior.

Transformable wall

Thanks to transformable furniture, it is possible to optimally unload the living room and give it more functionality. A complex transforming wall, combined with a bed or sofa, will be an ideal solution for a small room or one-room apartment.

Modular wall in the living room

Modular walls are currently popular. All module components may differ in appearance and size. Therefore, such a wall can be selected for any area, both a small and a large living room.

By choosing such a model, you will only benefit from the ease of installation and beauty of such a wall. This may include:

  • Cabinets
  • Shelves
  • Niches
  • Dressers
  • Mini bar
  • And other elements that can be listed endlessly.

It is also popular and fashionable to use two contrasting colors on one wall. In general, a wide variety of colors are used.

Advantages of a modular wall:

  • You can choose the departments and their number that you need.
  • Great for storing items and clothes
  • Sections are separated from each other
  • Wide variety of variations

There is a model of a corner wall for the living room, which will fit perfectly into a large living room and decorate its interior.

Examples of wall configurations

There are two types of slide configuration for the living room.

All slides are divided into built-in and cabinet models

Case models

The cabinet model is a one-piece structure with a bottom, side walls and a roof. Consists of several sections. Depending on the chosen model, it is equipped with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, shelves, display case, sideboard, etc. The price depends on the raw materials and accessories. The most expensive sets are made from solid wood. The budget series is made from film chipboard facades. Middle price segment - cases made of MDF.

A cabinet slide is the most common furniture option for a hall or living room.

Built-in models

If there is a niche in the room, the best solution would be to buy a built-in headset. Such furniture is often made to order, adjusted to fit the dimensions of the opening. The variant differs from the usual compositions by the absence of some body elements. The bottom replaces the floor, the roof replaces the ceiling, and the side walls replace the walls, which significantly reduces the cost of the product.

The built-in slide has individual dimensions and is made only to order

But the built-in slide has one significant drawback - it cannot be rearranged or supplemented.

Choosing a wall-slide for the hall according to its shape

The classification system for these pieces of furniture is extensive. They differ from each other in design, execution style, color design and material used in the manufacturing process.

Linear

The most common option. Suitable for rectangular and square living rooms. Linear walls stop along the wall.

They usually consist of several parts:

  • one or two cabinets;
  • open and closed shelves;
  • TV stand.

Interiors in a modern style are characterized by a symmetrical arrangement of objects. For example, the tallest model is installed in the center, and the steel elements are placed so that the structure slopes down to the sides. Thanks to a wall of this shape, the room visually becomes taller.

If the central part of the slide is lower, the room visually appears wider.

Elements can be placed in any order, without paying attention to their sizes. Asymmetry looks good in styles such as modern, hi-tech, minimalism, etc.

Corner placement

Wall slides of this type fit perfectly into a small room. They are spacious and compact. They can be installed either in a square or in a long but narrow rectangular room.

There are several options for arranging parts of such a wall. Most often, there is a TV stand or cabinet in the corner. In the second case, the large internal volume of the structure will allow you to store a lot of things. Here you can place additional shelves and drawers to increase useful volume.

Typically, a corner slide has an asymmetrical shape. Therefore, you don’t have to limit your imagination when combining its elements.

Modular walls

Slides of this design have many advantages:

  • all parts without exception can be moved to another place at any time;
  • parts of the wall can be selected based on preferences and wishes, as well as the features of the living room interior;
  • With the help of such products you can save useful meters, which is especially convenient in small spaces.

Another advantage of living room slide furniture is the ability to complement the set with new elements.

Classical

These are traditional slides; like linear ones, they are installed along the walls. It is important that they are combined with the interior and size of the room and do not create the effect of cluttering the space. At the same time, you need to ensure that they are functional.

Mini slide

The main difference between such walls is their compact size and unusual arrangement of elements. In most cases, they consist of 5 parts, thanks to which they fit into the interior of both large and small living rooms.

There are several types of mini slides:

  • modular;
  • corner;
  • mounted

There are also mixed designs that combine the features of the above products.

Wall cabinets

Ideal for small living rooms. In these cabinets you can conveniently place any things, souvenirs, books, accessories, etc.

The slides are classic and corner. In the second case, you can easily increase the capacity by experimenting with the filling (shelves, drawers, etc.).

Pros and cons of a slide wall in the living room interior

As a modern type of living room set, wall slides have a lot of obvious positive characteristics. These include:

  • a variety of shapes, types of structures and materials for their implementation;
  • compact size with sufficient capacity;
  • mobility, ease of movement;
  • ergonomics;
  • the ability to independently compose a set of the necessary modules;
  • environmental friendliness and naturalness (solid wood models);
  • durability of high-quality slide walls;
  • neat appearance that does not clutter up the living room space;
  • the opportunity to support and complement any interior.

A furniture set of items of different sizes makes the living room interior more interesting and attractive.
Against the backdrop of positive qualities, several negative ones can be identified:

  • fragility of the slides if low-quality materials are used, improper installation or improper operation;
  • high cost of a reliable headset;
  • lack of a full-fledged large-sized storage system included in the wall set.

small wall

In a modest living room, large furniture is completely inappropriate. It will take up all the free space, and the room will look heavy and uncomfortable. In such rooms, a mini wall becomes a salvation. This kit may only contain a few items.

A couple of stands for TV and other equipment, a small cabinet and several hanging shelves - that’s all that can be included in a mini slide.

When choosing such an ensemble of furniture for your home, do not forget about functionality. Furniture is needed not only to create beauty, but also to store things.

Color selection

The choice of color palette is directly proportional to what style you decide to choose for your living room.

The main trick of many designers is that they try to divide the color scheme into groups.

White colors for modern modular furniture are extremely popular. First of all, because it goes well with any other colors.

Therefore, furniture is often also decorated in several colors.

This allows you to create truly unique living rooms in which not only your family, but also all your relatives and friends will happily gather.

Also, white color harmonizes perfectly with black or dark brown, which are also considered the most popular colors on the modern market.

Furniture must be as wear-resistant and durable as possible and must be made from high-quality materials.

When choosing a color palette, you need to clearly understand whether that floor will be combined with the entire interior as a whole.

Without cabinets

If you have a wardrobe or dressing room in your home and there is enough space to store things, you can do without wardrobes altogether. In this case, the walls of the slide in the living room consist of drawers and shelves. They make low, wide floor boxes on which you can place a TV, other equipment, and decorative items. Open or closed shelves-cabinets are hung higher on the wall. Moreover, their shape is most often nonlinear - broken; boxes of different heights can even be used. The main thing is to integrate them correctly. Several examples of modern wall cabinets for a living room without cabinets in the photo selection.

One of the options for a wall slide in a modern style Closed cabinets of different sizes and shapes - that’s all this furniture set consists of. Asymmetry gives this set an unusual look. It will fit well into minimalism or modern style. With open shelves for books. you can’t tell right away whether it’s a wall or not... Playing with contrasts is a favorite technique of designers

Strictly speaking, this is a set of cabinets and wall cabinets of different configurations, but from old memory they are also called slide walls.

Types of finishing

Finishing materials are very different. They can be divided into 2 categories: materials that imitate the structure of wood, and options that create a uniform, smooth surface. In modern living rooms, all possibilities are equally actively used.

In the photo there is a furniture slide in the living room.

  • Painting and varnishing is a finishing method suitable only for solid wood. Varnish emphasizes the structure of the wood and makes its color range even richer. Painting gives an unusual shade and can either reveal the texture of the wood or hide it. Furniture wax can also play a similar role. This type of coating requires periodic renewal, especially a layer of wax or oil.
  • Veneer is a finish that provides maximum resemblance to wood, since it is wood itself. A thin section of wood is glued onto MDF, chipboard, or even wood of a less beautiful or expensive species.

The photo shows the design of a slide for the living room.

  • Film coatings – the most well-known are PVC film. However, both films based on polypropylene (PP) and acrylic butadiene styrene (ABS) are used for furniture. Decorative paper impregnated with melamine resins is also used for finishing. This type of coating provides only a relative resemblance to wood: film can convey a color gamut, although more limited, but cannot reproduce the texture of wood.

In the photo there are slides in the apartment.
Film coatings are noticeably inferior in durability to other options. The film itself is practically insensitive to moisture or heat. But the adhesive connection of the film with MDF or chipboard is much less stable and loses its properties over time.

  • Lamination is a multilayer composition, including decorative paper and protective layers of resin. Lamination today is the most popular method of finishing chipboard furniture. This option does not increase the cost of the slide, and is more durable than PVC film. Lamination is more resistant to sunlight.
  • HPC is the most modern option. Decorative paper, imitating the texture and color of wood, is impregnated with thermo-hardening resin and covered with a thin transparent layer on top. This material has exceptionally high mechanical strength, does not change under the influence of temperature and moisture and is very durable. HPC boards are used for finishing expensive MDF slides.

The photo shows new items for the hall.
HPC is considered the best wood-imitating material available today. The qualities of the outer layer of plastic are such that they make it possible to reproduce not only the wood pattern, but also the microrelief.

  • A black slide in the living room or a dazzling white one, much less one that changes color, is made using only one option - acrylic slabs . This is a composite material covered on top with the strongest acrylic glass. As a rule, the slabs are given a clean, bright color. The white slide in the living room, which is shown in the photo, was finished with acrylic slabs.

An even more exotic option: a combination of several shades within one facade - “chameleon”. The effectiveness of the material is emphasized by another of its features – glossy shine. The photo shows how white sideboards and display cabinets in the living room are combined with finished facades.

Why should you consider this option?

The first advantage is the non-standard nature of such furniture design. After all, we are most often accustomed to seeing direct options. They are ideal for spacious living rooms, convenient for installing a large screen and a connected audio system.

But the corner option is more convenient for medium and small rooms; it allows you to free up the central wall and move the emphasis to the corner. The TV will be placed either in the very corner on a specially provided shelf, it is also possible to install it on the long part of the structure, the screen will be turned deep into the room.

Material

In the manufacture of these structures, the following types of materials are used:

  • Solid wood.
  • Chipboard/chipboard.
  • MDF.

When purchasing such a furniture set, special attention is paid to the materials, since not only the design and appearance of the structure, but also its quality and service life completely depend on them.

Manufacturing materials

The materials from which such living room models are made are divided into two classes.

Lumber

Chipboard is the most widely used material for making living room furniture. Chipboard can have a simple or laminated surface.

MDF - furniture made from this material has a more attractive appearance. However, in order for it not to quickly fail, the room will have to maintain a certain temperature and humidity.

Fiberboard - used only for the manufacture of back walls.

Material for the production of slide walls

Solid wood

Natural wood is the highest quality and most expensive material. Their products are durable.

The following materials are used for finishing the slide walls:

  • glass;
  • natural wood;
  • metal;
  • plastic.

A little history

Walls came into use in the 70s of the 20th century, and there is still no demand for them. After 40 years, the walls have changed in many ways in their design and use. Therefore, today it is easy to choose any stylish model for your living room.

The walls in the living room in a modern style consist of:

  • Shelves for accessories
  • Bara
  • TV niches
  • And many other components.

Now the walls have become much more convenient.

What are the types of corner walls?

The difference from the classic straight wall is only in the shape, otherwise it performs exactly the same functions. If we are talking about a wall that is intended specifically for a TV, then special attention must be paid to a niche or shelf for equipment. Most likely, in this particular case it will occupy the most convenient and important place. This place should be designed in such a way that it is most convenient to use the TV.

The simplest and most budget option is a regular shelf, strong enough to support the screen and related devices.

The height of such a shelf should be comfortable for a person sitting on the sofa to watch TV, that is, it is advisable to place the screen exactly opposite the eyes.

A more expensive option is to supplement the same niche or shelf with a special structure onto which the TV will be screwed.

The idea is that this design makes it possible to place the screen at the desired height and angle by simply rotating the screen on special holders.

Another important advantage of this solution is safety - it will be very difficult for small children and active animals to move and drop expensive equipment, which will save their health, and parents and owners’ nerves and money.

Since the emphasis is on the shelf for equipment, it is worth mentioning the material from which it can be made. The classic version is the same material that is used in the manufacture of the case itself.

More interesting solutions are a glass shelf reinforced with metal elements. However, glass products are subject to fairly high safety requirements:

In addition to a TV stand in a modern style, such a wall can be equipped with a huge number of shelves, pull-out and opening drawers and other niches.

Don’t forget the main purpose of such walls is to store things from the entire room in one place. Here you can organize a chest of drawers for storing towels and linen, in large opening niches on hangers you can place shirts or seasonal clothes, in the lower shelves winter shoes can be conveniently placed in summer and vice versa.

On the mezzanine you can lay out bed linen and rarely used items. With thoughtful placement, even a small aquarium will have a place (but be careful, it will be in close proximity to electronics).

Since electricity will still be supplied there, you can easily make controlled LED or fluorescent lighting, which will serve both a decorative role and the role of gentle illumination of the living space.

Classification by installation method

Modern modular walls offer another important advantage - wall mounting. What is meant?

In ordinary cases, only shelves act as hanging elements. Moreover, they are rarely found in the wall, in fact, only in the hill.

In a modular living room the situation is completely different:

  • floor elements – chests of drawers, shelving, floor cabinets. The first object is present in any wall. A narrow wall in a modern-style living room almost always includes at least one pencil case. A large structure may even have a wardrobe;
  • wall wall in the living room, more precisely, the element is shelves and console models. Contemporary style curtain walls include hanging cabinets, shelving, and even console chests of drawers. A modular living room in a hi-tech or techno style can consist entirely of hanging elements.

Modern hanging walls in the living room are somewhat more difficult to secure; moving them to another place or rearranging them requires more time, but the fundamental mobility of the elements remains.

Direct

Furniture complexes are also distinguished by configuration. A straight wall means a set of objects located along one wall. The following variations are possible:

  • mini-wall designed for equipment maintenance. This set includes a stand and a minimum of compartments - floor or console, which house other elements of the home theater. As a rule, at least one of the shelves is decorative, although it is used in different ways;
  • the larger set includes a chest of drawers, a TV stand and several shelves. The addition of glazed compartments, vertical or horizontal, looks very stylish;
  • It is fashionable in modern living rooms to build walls into niches, as in the photo. This allows for more efficient use of the space in a small hall;
  • a modular living room rarely occupies the entire wall area - today such a solution is not considered successful. It is better if some of the elements are placed on the opposite wall.

The furniture wall, in addition to the TV, can also include such unusual elements as a fireplace or an aquarium, which, undoubtedly, greatly enlivens the interior.

Corner

A corner wall in a modern style living room is a solution for a small room. They differ not only in the number of items included, but also in the nature of the use of the angle:

  • inactive - a typical example is modular walls with a corner cabinet. Such a compartment is always blank and is purely utilitarian;
  • active - rare, but modern corner walls in the living room can shift the visual center of the room. This effect can be achieved by placing a TV or corner fireplace in the corner.

At the same time, upholstered furniture also has to be placed diagonally, which visually changes the configuration of the room.

Wall slide

The wall slide in the living room in a modern style is closest to modular. In fact, now there is no difference between these two complexes. It was called a slide due to the use of elements of different sizes, which were connected in such a way as to form a semblance of a slide.

Today, this conventional term simply means that the furniture includes elements of different sizes.

The furniture in the living room wall includes a wide variety of furniture: cabinets, shelving, chests of drawers, shelves, pencil cases and even a bar. They are placed mostly asymmetrically, which is the greatest attractiveness of the slide: the different sizes allow you to structure the space of the room.

The complex necessarily includes a compartment or chest of drawers for a TV. The latter option is much more convenient, as it allows you to place a screen of any size.

The wall of the slide can have very different sizes. The mini-complex includes a chest of drawers for a TV, shelves and, possibly, a glazed console cabinet.

Large structures contain bookcases, compartments, and hanging elements of various kinds.

The color range of products is very diverse. The choice is determined by the style of the room and color palette. Most often, furniture items are made of wood or imitate it, but today other types of finishes, for example, acrylic panels, are increasingly common.

This material allows you to create a bright and very pure shade.

No TV

A wall without a niche for a TV in the living room is quite rare.

For example, when the screen is mounted above the fireplace, or when the corner wall in a spacious room plays the role of a study rather than a display case.

Modern cabinet walls for the living room are the most popular option of this kind. The one-piece, non-demountable design does not contain a niche for the TV.

A modular wall without a TV in the living room allows you to attach pencil cases, shelves and chests of drawers in any combination and at different levels. This makes it much easier to organize a niche large enough to install a TV or projector.

If the latter is placed in a different location, the hanging and floor wall elements are simply placed in a different order.

With computer place

If you need to combine a living room and a study, a wall in the living room with a computer desk in a modern style is the ideal and most elegant option.

It is the modular complex that allows you to include not only storage compartments, as is typical for a standard wall, but also any other elements.

Products are distinguished by the type of computer desk:

  • a straight long table is the most beautiful solution for a hall in a minimalist or high-tech style. The long, somewhat narrow tabletop acts as a horizontal element and fits perfectly into the concept;
  • classic straight - mounted as if in a niche between cabinets. Shelves or blind sections located on top reinforce this impression;
  • corner tables for the wall in the living room can have very different configurations. More ergonomic is the curved tabletop, which allows you to combine the functions of a computer and desk;
  • hidden table - in this case, the tabletop is actually located in the depths of the cabinet. When it is closed, the “office” is not visible.

Deciding on the material

The wall slide in the living room can be made of different materials. In fact, the choice is not so great, since the nature and purpose of the furniture limits it (in the photo of the slides in the living room at the end of the article), different options are presented.

Tree

Solid wood is certainly the most attractive and functional material.

It has many advantages:

  • wood has a rich range of colors and structure, from uniform black wenge to walnut with its incredibly intricate wood pattern;
  • wood is very easy to process. This property allows us to produce not only smooth facades, but also relief and radius ones. The furniture is unusually decorated with carvings. In classic styles, such a decoration method will always be in place;
  • the wood always remains warm to the touch. This property turns out to be very popular, for example, when the slide includes a computer desk. The warm surface creates an extraordinary feeling of comfort;

The photo shows beautiful wooden slides in the living room.

  • solid wood is very durable. Wooden furniture is insensitive to moisture and does not rot or become infected with fungi. Essentially, durability is determined by the properties of the wood species. Pine lasts for several decades, and bog oak for several centuries.

This material also has disadvantages:

  • the array is quite heavy, so it is better to avoid console items;
  • wood, especially beautiful and durable species, is quite expensive.

MDF

MDF is a wonderful material for furniture. In many cases, MDF is even more durable than wood. The actual structure of MDF is uninteresting - it's just chipboard. However, the material is finished with PVC film and veneer, which gives it a high resemblance to wood. At the same time, a stack for dishes in the living room or a complex with a TV stand and a wardrobe cost significantly less.

The advantages of the material are as follows:

  • high strength and density, allowing any type of fastening;
  • high resistance to moisture and temperature changes. In the living room this does not play a special role, but for a combined kitchen-living room it is important;
  • MDF does not change size over time: the facades do not dry out, do not warp, do not swell;
  • MDF finishing also turns out to be more durable: peeling of veneer, for example, or film is extremely rare.

Disadvantages of the material:

  • less durability compared to wood;
  • there is a risk of damage to the finish due to its thinness. In this case, the repair turns out to be more complicated, since in this case it is necessary to remove the finishing from a large fragment - a sash, for example, and replace it with a new one.

The photo shows furniture and slides for the hall made of MDF.

Chipboard

Chipboard is a budget option. This type of wood-based material is dense enough to be used for making furniture, but its durability leaves much to be desired.

The advantages of the material are as follows:

  • very affordable cost - the most complex and voluminous chipboard walls have a very affordable price;
  • a wide variety of finishes - from veneer to acrylic films, allows you to create an imitation of any natural material: stone, wood, plastic, even a metal surface;
  • Furniture sets made from chipboard include many elements and are produced in large quantities. It is not difficult to add some items to the slide at any time or replace a damaged element;
  • The big advantage of this design is its lightness. A wall made entirely of cantilever elements does not place a large load on the wall.

In the photo there are small hanging slides in the living room.
The furniture complex has many disadvantages:

  • Chipboard does not tolerate changes in humidity and temperature well, facades are deformed and change shape;
  • the finish is easily damaged. Film coatings are less durable on such a surface: over time or under the influence of sunlight, the film peels off, changes color, and becomes deformed;
  • Chipboard is not durable: the maximum service life of products is 15–20 years;
  • finishing, with the exception of veneer, does not provide a high resemblance to wood.

The appearance of the slide, in fact, is provided by the finishing, and the latter is selected in accordance with the style of the living room and color scheme.

The photo shows new living rooms, slides and walls.

Other materials are also used, although much less frequently.

Glass

Glass and also mirror . A slide in a living room in a high-tech or techno style can consist entirely of glass structures. The glass used for such furniture is impact-resistant.

The advantages are obvious:

  • The material is incredibly effective. The simplest lighting turns a glass complex into something incredible;
  • glass can be decorated in a variety of ways. Matte, transparent, colored, laser-engraved, sandblasted, painted, and even stained glass are used;
  • such an ensemble visually noticeably enlarges the room, as it does not steal the perspective at all. And the ability of glass to reflect light enhances the effect;
  • The glass structure of the simplest living room gives a spectacular look.

There are also disadvantages to this option:

  • all the contents of shelves, chests of drawers, cabinets always remain in sight. Accordingly, constant maintenance of order is required;
  • Glass also needs to be looked after more often. Not only dust or dirt is noticeable on the glass surface, but also fingerprints.

Glass is used in most cabinets made of wood, MDF or chipboard, as glass doors and display cases make the wall structure more interesting. But in such cases, glass is not considered as the main construction material.

Metal is most often found in glass slides, as it acts as the frame of cabinet furniture. Steel, aluminum, titanium, and more exotic alloys are used. Metal elements are often included in a wooden slide as decorative details.

The advantages and disadvantages of metal are obvious: the material is unusually durable, beautiful, and resistant to wear, but it is very heavy, expensive and cold. Accordingly, it is never used as a base material.

Types of wall arrangements in the living room

Mini walls

For lovers of minimalism, there is a comfortable embodiment in the form of mini-walls. These are low horizontal wall cabinets that frame the top and bottom, making a bright accent on the wide screen, and turning it into a living picture.

Even more compact TV furniture is a wall-mounted console or with legs, with open or closed compartments.

Full wall

The linear design across the entire wall is more reminiscent of old-style furniture than others. The set fills either the entire wall or a significant part of it, if space allows. Its advantage is that it is quite roomy, but at the same time it looks quite modern and harmonious.

The design is often symmetrical on both sides.

  • However, there are models with the opposite approach, where shelves and cabinets are of different levels, widths and depths. Modular living rooms can be supplemented and sections can be swapped, which will be convenient when moving and renovating.
  • Manufacturers go even further, using gas lifts to lift a hidden bed, a wardrobe-bed with a sofa or a desk.
  • Transformable walls make life a lot easier, saving space and turning a mobile living room into a bedroom or office.

Mini wall in the living room

They are designed for small living rooms where every centimeter counts. But it is also perfect for those people who love minimalism. The mini-wall performs all the necessary functions without cluttering up the space. This design is perfect for a high-tech living room.

Advantages of mini-walls:

  • Small in size
  • Always have the right things at hand
  • Valuable items are protected
  • Modern and fashionable

Classic wall

This wall, like modern, is always in demand among buyers. Many people believe that the classic wall is always relevant. This is not the last century, but beautiful and textured models, but of course there are also individual antique walls for a narrow circle of buyers. They differ from other models in their dimensions and a single, non-separable body. The wall has a straight shape and is placed near the largest wall.

The classic wall consists of:

  • Main cabinet
  • Bara
  • TV compartment
  • Mezzanine

A classic living room wall in a modern style can be completely varied in color, from the lightest shades to the darkest. It is distinguished by the reliability and quality of its design.

Modern wall models are distinguished by a large selection and variety in style and shape. Before you come to any decision, think carefully or seek help from an experienced designer.

Photos of interesting living room design ideas with a wall slide

A slide in the living room is an excellent option for a comfortable arrangement of the room with the ability to place the necessary things and at the same time complement the already created interior. But is it possible to successfully choose this type of headset based solely on the description? More likely no than yes! We recommend that you look through the best living room design ideas in the photo, where slide walls occupy the main positions and naturally emphasize the decor of the living area.

Standard walls

Custom-made furniture is an expensive pleasure, the production of which takes a long time.

A standard wall is also sometimes not suitable.

Modern furniture factories began to produce entire collections of furniture made in the same style and color. Modular slides are assembled from such components.

This way your wall will consist only of those modules that you need. A modular slide is also a good option for a non-standard room.

Features and Benefits

The advantages of modular structures are obvious:

  • Style. Modular walls do not clutter up the room and do not create a feeling of bulkiness. They look stylish, elegant, compact. And the ability to independently plan the design allows you to create furniture that is most suitable for a specific interior.
  • Functionality. You can select exactly the modules that you need. If you want to create a mini-library in your living room, your set may include bookshelves and cabinets. If you want to put beautiful dishes on the wall, you can buy mirrored cabinets with glass doors. A wardrobe is useful for clothes, and souvenirs can be placed both on open shelves and behind glass.
  • Possibility of change. You can rearrange the elements of the headset as much as you like, and each time you will get a new design. This technique will appeal to those who do not like monotony, because you will not get tired of such a wall for a long time.

The set can be adjusted to the new interior after repair or rearrangement. And if you need additional storage space, you can simply purchase a couple of modules by adding them to the existing structure.

This way you will save on buying new furniture without compromising the functionality and beauty of the interior.

  • Space saving. Thanks to the rational placement of sections, you can use the space of the room as efficiently as possible. This makes modular design an ideal option even for small rooms.

And if you choose a corner wall option, you can save space in a living room with a non-standard layout

Styles

A modern wall in the living room - with a wardrobe, with a TV, with a computer desk - can be decorated in any style and in any color scheme.

In general, the design of the furniture complex is divided into classic and modern. It is important to take into account here that the first option assumes only floor furniture, the same elements in depth and height, as well as a large number of blind compartments.

In the second case, console and floor elements are combined, shelves, pencil cases and chests of drawers of different lengths, heights, and even depths are used.

Modern

One of the main differences between the Art Nouveau style is its tendency towards asymmetry. In the modern version, this means the ability to place wall elements at different heights and not achieve symmetry on any basis.

Most often, the semantic center of the wall is the TV.

However, in relation to it, the height and width of pencil cases and cabinets on both sides can be either the same or different. This solution looks especially impressive in mini-living rooms.

Preference is given to blind sections and shelves. A combination of wood and glass in the doors is possible. A prerequisite is a smooth facade, carvings or moldings are excluded.

The color scheme is very different. However, preference is given to wood, painted or plain. An excellent solution is acrylic panels.

High tech

The main difference between high-tech furniture is the minimum number of elements and the most unusual proportions.

As a rule, panels, chests of drawers, and shelves have clear, geometrically correct shapes. More spectacular options include curved elements or even radius furniture.

Facades must be even and smooth. The wall contains a combination of blind compartments, shelves and niches. Glazed sections are extremely rarely used. However, if the compartment under the glass is equipped with backlighting, this option is readily accepted.

The color scheme is completely determined by the palette of the room, but great attention is paid to the choice of material. High-tech uses solid, uniform wood, matte plastic and glass, and shiny acrylic panels.

Minimalism

A concept that combines several varieties. Its distinctive feature is maximum simplicity of design and a minimum of items.

Modern small walls in the living room in this style are most impressive.

Minimalism involves a maximum of shiny, light-reflecting surfaces. And such facades and panels, even dark in color, visually expand the space of the room.

The color scheme offers a wide variety. Preference is always given to white or a combination of white and another dull shade.

Loft

Strictly speaking, such concepts as a wall and a loft are incompatible, because this style does not allow furniture to be installed next to the wall. However, modern apartments are more likely to be styled like a loft.

A completely suitable solution for a loft is a full-wall complex with the maximum number of blind compartments.

Open sections are, of course, allowed, but glass ones are excluded. This option creates the impression of a blank wall, and niches in it structure the space.

  • Another interesting option is to form a wall only from floor elements - low pencil cases, chests of drawers, or only wall-mounted shelves, closed sections located high above the floor.

The material can be wood - homogeneous and frankly ugly, although rough processing, as in rustic, is not allowed. Acrylic facades and glossy or matte plastic are suitable - it is not recommended to combine the latter with wood.

How to choose?

Every day, interesting new items appear in the assortment of furniture companies. Among such variety, it is not so easy to choose the appropriate option. To make your purchase successful, you should consider a few key points:

  • Style. The wall should fit harmoniously into the room, matching the style with the rest of the decor.
  • Color. The shade of the set should be chosen based on the color of the walls, the rest of the furniture and personal preferences. It is better to decorate a small room with a light wall. This will make the room seem larger and brighter. In a spacious room, decorated in bright colors, you can put a white or, conversely, black set, which will balance the color balance of the room. In a living room with a calm interior in neutral tones, a colored modular model would be appropriate.

Remember that calm tones promote relaxation. Bright colors, on the contrary, set you up for an active lifestyle.

  • Construction type. Decide which part of the room you plan to allocate as a wall. For a small room, it is better to choose a corner design. In a large living room, a regular modular set would be more appropriate.
  • Equipment. Think about how many elements you will need and what they should be. Decide what you want to put in closed drawers and cabinets and what you want to leave in plain sight. Open shelves are for souvenirs, books and flowers, glass shelves are for dishes. It is more convenient to store important little things in drawers. For large personal items, you will need cabinets with opaque doors.
  • Quality. It is better to focus on products from trusted manufacturers who have earned a reputation and the trust of customers. If you liked the models of a little-known company, study the reviews of those who have already purchased walls from its production.

Don't be tempted by the low price. As a rule, a suspiciously low price indicates poor quality of the product.

If the purchase is not made online, but in a real store, carefully inspect the headset. Check the reliability of the fasteners, the quality of the fittings, and ask what materials the set is made of.
