Installation instructions for a stationary structure

Let us take as a basis the following procedure to make a table out of a window sill:

1. Transferring all dimensions onto a wood board (using a stencil makes this easier and more reliable).
2. Sawing out the tabletop according to the markings (this is easy to do with a jigsaw).
3. Prepare holes for air circulation above the location of the heating battery. The recommended diameter is 36 mm, use a feather drill for the job.
4. Installing the tabletop in place. Near the window profile it is supported by bars, on the other side by perforated connectors. Checking the horizontal installation using a building level. The table top should fit snugly against the bottom of the window frame.
5. Installing heavy improvised objects on the table to prevent deformation of the window sill after the sealant has hardened.
6. Filling the voids with polyurethane foam with gaps for future expansion of the sealant (injection pitch 100-120 mm). Sealing joints with sealant (helium is preferable).
7. Installation of legs. Having cut off the desired length, insert plastic plugs from the bottom of the chrome tube. We fasten the upper part with self-tapping screws through the holes in the flange to the table top.

To obtain additional rigidity, the tabletop is pressed with standard fasteners in the area of ​​the enclosing structures against the stops (bars and corners). Cured polyurethane foam must be plastered (or puttied) to prevent deformation. At the joints you need to install a decorative corner made of plastic or metal.

How to make a table with a folding top from a window sill? Prepare a tabletop consisting of 2 parts - stationary and mounted on piano hinges. Folding legs can serve as supports perfectly.
