Click-clack mechanisms differ in right and left, and during installation there is a chance to confuse the mechanisms. To avoid mistakes when installing transformation mechanisms, pay attention to the spring attached to the mounting plate. The spring should be directed towards the front of the sofa box.
First, install a bolt and washer in the mounting hole, which is located closer to the back of the sofa frame. Insert the slot on the transformation mechanism mounting plate under the washer. Then the slot located in the front of the fastening plate is aligned with the hole in the box and secured with a second bolt. If the locks are installed correctly, it is easier to tighten the bolts immediately. This will be more difficult to do with an assembled sofa. Sometimes manufacturers install the mechanism not in the slot, but in one of the holes next to the slot. This installation method does not affect the quality of the mechanism, but in some cases it unnecessarily complicates the assembly process.
The seat and back frames in click-klyak sofas, as a rule, do not differ in size and can be installed arbitrarily. Frames are always installed on transformation mechanisms from above, the vertical part of the mechanism mounting angle should be on the outside of the frame. To install the seat and backrest, M8 (sometimes M6) bolts are used, which are included in the delivery package. The bolts from above are inserted into the frames, pass through the stamped holes, inserted into the holes in the locks and tightened with nuts.
In the corners of the mechanism to which the sofa frames are attached, two pairs of holes are stamped (in NSM locks), in locks 5001 there are only two holes and the distance between the frames is not adjustable. By installing the frames on the holes near or far from the center of the lock, you can adjust the gap between the frames. The difference between the pairs of holes in each of the shelves is two centimeters, that is, you can adjust the gap between the frames within four centimeters. The frame fasteners should be finally tightened only after the sofa with the nuts attached, but not fully tightened, has been folded and unfolded several times. If you immediately tighten the fastening of the frames, the transformation mechanisms may work distorted, which will affect the service life of the locks.
The assembly of the click-clack sofa base is almost complete. Once again we check the functionality of the assembled sofa, lay down the mattresses and put on the cover. In some models of click-klyak sofas, mattresses are attached to the frame with Velcro or tied to slats. Sometimes mattresses are simply placed on the frames of the sofa and then supported only by the cover. It’s easier to put on a click-clack sofa cover in the “sofa” position. First, the cover is completely put on the seat, which can be installed horizontally, then parallel to both sides on the back of the sofa. When assembling, washers placed between the nut and the sofa part, especially the seat and back frames, will definitely not be superfluous. The washers increase the bearing area and prevent the pipes from being crushed when the nut is tightened.
